Dan Gallin, one of the most important leaders and theoreticians of the trade union and socialist movements, will arrive in Russia. On 28 November 2017 in Moscow, he will present his book "Red Thread: Ideas and organisation of the international labour movement."

From 25th to 27th of September in port of Nakhodka, Seafarers' Union of Russia (SUR) was holding meetings with crew members of three tankers: Igrim (flag of Russia, IMO 7413476), Immanuil (flag of Russia, IMO 9056571) and Glorystar (flag of Sierra-Leone but is changing to Russian flag, IMO 9449651). The main purpose was the verification of implementation the requirements of collective bargaining agreements previously concluded between SUR Far Eastern Territorial Organization (SUR FETO) and the companies Transoil, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy Shipping Company and Nakhodka-Tanker.

On Wednesday, September 6, the Moscow City Court issued a ruling on the lawsuit of Aeroflot flight attendants Evgenia Magurina and Irina Jerusalimskaya. The claims of the airline workers were partially met. Russian trade unions welcome this decision and consider it necessary to seek the elimination of all types of discrimination for the airline employees.
The ITUC has condemned the sentence handed down against trade union leader Larisa Kharkova by a Kazakhstan court today as a travesty of justice, and an affront to democracy.
